FC Koln is intensively preparing for the 2026/27 season while the players are still enjoying a few relaxing days on vacation. Behind the scenes at Geißbockheim, work is already underway on the new squad. Coach René Wagner will invite his team to the first training session in mid-July. The summer schedule for FC Koln includes important dates that fans and players alike are looking forward to. On July 2, the DFL will announce the Bundesliga fixture list, followed by the training kickoff on July 13. From July 24 to 31, the training camp will take place in Kitzbühel, where the team will prepare for the upcoming challenges. Additionally, the first competitive matches in the DFB-Pokal and Bundesliga are on the horizon. From August 21 to 24, FC Koln will play in the first round of the DFB-Pokal against Würzburger Kickers, followed by the first Bundesliga matchday from August 28 to 30. In the meantime, the club has already lost eight players, including Eric Martel and Florian Kainz. Sporting director Thomas Kessler is working to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season to achieve the club's goals.
