1. FC Koln is intensively preparing for the upcoming Bundesliga season. While the official training starts on July 13, talents Elias Bakatukanda and Fynn Schenten are already working hard in Mallorca. The duo has traveled with the goal of being in top shape to earn a chance at FC Koln in the new season. Together with Exaouse Vunguidica, they are training for four days at the RCD Mallorca facility, supervised by a Spanish coach. The focus is on athleticism and ball work to prepare optimally.

Elias Bakatukanda struggled with injuries last season, which significantly affected his playing time. After a strong first half of the season at Blau-Weiß Linz, he missed almost the entire second half due to injuries. Now he wants to prove himself in training and seize his opportunity under coach René Wagner. If playing time becomes scarce, another loan could be considered. Thomas Kessler, a big fan of Bakatukanda, sees great potential in him as a modern center-back.

Fynn Schenten, on the other hand, has already made several appearances for FC Koln last season, but competition in the attack is fierce. Under the new coach Wagner, Schenten may struggle to get playing time, as the club plans to sign additional strikers. A decision regarding his future will also be made during the preparation. Both players are motivated to give their all to secure a place in the squad and advance their development.
