The 1. FC Köln has had two standout players in the past season, Said El Mala and Jakub Kaminski. The duo scored 20 goals to help the team avoid relegation. However, the likelihood is high that the FC will have to do without their two fan favorites next season. Although El Mala has just turned down a move to FC Brentford, all signs point to a departure for the young star. And Kaminski is also set to leave for England. The Polish player has hinted at his departure in an interview with the Polish portal KanalSportowy. "It depends on the options available, whether I'm satisfied with them, and whether it's a step forward for me", says Kaminski. He adds: "I'm currently playing for 1. FC Köln and have a four-year contract. If the opportunity arises to move on, every player will naturally take it. Sometimes such opportunities only arise once in a career. My dream has always been to play in the Bundesliga, but after 104 games and four seasons, the Premier League is my next goal. It's the best league in the world, and I'd like to prove myself and show off my skills there." Kaminski wants to move to England – and immediately. Now, the first interested party has emerged. Brighton is reportedly interested in the Polish player. After the "Seagulls" failed to sign El Mala, his teammate is now in their sights. Unlike El Mala, the English are not dependent on the FC. Kaminski has a release clause of around 20 million euros, which allows him to move. Brighton only needs to agree with the player. However, both sides are likely still far apart, as Kaminski reveals. "It's quiet for now, we'll see what happens. There's a big transfer window, the clubs will plan, but then there's the World Cup. That could slow things down. We'll see if there's interest or not. I won't say any more about it for now", says the Pole.
