FC Koln has extended striker Jaka Cuber Potocnik's contract and loaned the 21-year-old Slovenian to third-tier club Rot-Weiss Essen for another season.
The Billy Goats announced on Friday that Potocnik's contract has been extended long-term. The duration of the contract was not disclosed.
Potocnik joined FC Koln's U19 team in January 2022 from his native Slovenia. Olimpia Ljubljana accused FC Koln of inducing a breach of contract and complained to FIFA.
Potocnik made his debut for FC Koln's professionals in September 2024 in the 2. Bundesliga. Last season, the six-time Slovenian U21 international played on loan for Essen, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 19 third-tier games.
