FC Koln welcomes the SPD initiative to create new training facilities near the Geißbockheim. This step comes at a crucial time as the club has been struggling with space shortages for years. On July 2, the topic will be discussed in the city council, and talks between the party leaders are already in full swing. The proposed concept includes converting the existing tennis court into a modern artificial turf pitch and building a second training pitch directly at Geißbockheim. Additionally, the stadium will receive an upgrade with hybrid grass and floodlights. FC managing director Philipp Türoff emphasizes the urgency of these measures and sees them as a pragmatic compromise that benefits both FC Koln and local grassroots sports. President Jörn Stobbe has announced that the expansion of the performance center is set to begin early next year. There is great hope that other factions in the city council will follow this path to move forward with the implementation.
