FC Koln extends the contract with its talented striker Jaka Cuber Potocnik long-term and loans the attacker for another season to Rot-Weiss Essen. The 21-year-old Slovenian made 22 appearances in the past season, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
The contract extension with Jaka Potocnik shows the club's trust in the young player. FC Koln wants to promote Potocnik's development and use him as an important player in the future.
Essen's director of professional football Marcus Steegmann said: „Jaka has already shown his potential in the past season. He knows the club, the team, and our environment, so he won't need any time to adjust.“
Lukas Berg, technical director of FC Koln, explained: „We have decided together that Rot-Weiss Essen is the right place for Jaka's next step in his development. Especially towards the end of the last season, Jaka has made steady progress and was in the starting lineup for the decisive relegation games as a loan player.“
